Deadline October 18, 2007

The Hirshhorn invites aspiring young artists to transform the Museum's ArtLab into a working studio space. This intensive, five-day program gives high school students the opportunity to engage with peers, artists, and curators as they respond to objects from the collection.

Artist Zach Storm leads the workshop, introducing teens to a variety of alternative artmaking techniques. Students will step outside the more traditional modes of expression, such as drawing and painting, and experiment with a variety of methods and materials as they develop and create projects motivated by specific personal interests.

Free.
Students from local schools, grades 9 through 12, are eligible.
No previous art experience is necessary, and all materials are provided by the Hirshhorn.
